Are you Ready to help ?

If you like to be part of our team, participate in any projects or just be on call for an emergency service please send your resume and info to mark@vssnet.org. We will give some info on our training schedules and find a service project for you. Below find the different ways you can contribute...

1.) VISIT us...

1.)We always welcome any volunteer for shorter periods to come and see in which way they can fit in. At a later stage a 6 months or one year committment can be taken. For unskilled volunteers we expect them to come at their own expense and contribute $250 per month for basic food and lodging expenses. There is no specific expectation about the amount of assistance, but generally it is 4 hours a day as a minimum. This would be considered more like a volunteer/visit.

2.) Volunteer with us...

.

2.) If the financial capacity of a volunteer is low and his/her skill is needed and is ready to work full-time, the monthly contribution can be waved depending on the vacancy. We do not provide any insurance for any of our volunteers beyond what can be arranged locally as an emergency medical treatment.

3.) WORK with us...

3.) There are some tasks that require professional skills and cannot in all cases be done by volunteers. In those cases we employ people for specific time-periods. It is up to the individual project managers to decide. The amount paid varies according to the budget and in most cases is more like a stipend.

4.) Consult us...

In a few cases we need special consultants to help specific project areas. At this point these are the areas in which we need help:

1.)Management - organizational skills

2.)Medical treatment - establishing and running a clinic

3.)Experiential education - curriculum

4.)Construction engineering

5.)Agroforestry - environmental engineering

6.)watershed management / waterfiltration

7.)pond construction and dam-building

8.)Knitting and arts skills
